All I can say to Hilary Rosen is a hearty, “Thank you, Hilary.” Singlehandedly, former Democratic campaign strategist Hilary Rosen set back the Obama re-election campaign two years.
Rosen said Mitt Romney’s wife, Anne Romney, has never worked a day in her life. That may be true, but it was the wrong thing to say because any talk of women staying at home to raise kids and not work a real job is sacriligious to all women, Democrat or Republican.
The first thing Mitt Romney did after Rosen’s miscue and the flap that hit the fan, was to whisper something in his wife’s ear.
He could have said, “Thank you.” Or, something like, “Let’s make more babies.” Or, “Is it true that blondes have more fun?”
Whatever it was that Mitt said to his wife they both appear happy again.
More women will like Mitt because of Ann.
Why should I thank Hilary Rosen for saying something stupid? Because now Barack really, really needs me in 2012. No more waiting until 2016.
I’m in again, baby! Thank you, Hilary.
