Playing the race card

No one knows the tightrope I walk. There’s Bill’s baggage. I’m a woman and a Clinton. I’m white, and smart, and on a mission of passion. There are some cards I can play, but not as many as other candidates.

I often feel like I have to campaign with one arm behind my back. Meanwhile, it didn’t take long for Obama and Edwards and other also-rans to figure out they could bash a woman in politics and do so with impunity.

No more. The gloves are off. The hands are untied.

I’m ready to play the race card.

The only problem is figuring out how. Bill’s ready to test the waters. I’ve got a speech prepared that basically says the civil rights movement of the 1960s was the result of Lyndon Johnson’s legislation, not Martin Luther King’s marches all over creation.

Do I know how to create a little controversy, or what? Anyway, Bill’s on board with the strategy. He even has a little defensive move planned, just in case it gets out of hand, which I suspect it will.

Black people are soooooooo touchy these days.
